LOWER NORTH SHORE, SYDNEY

If you are considering making a statement indoors with polished concrete for your home in the Lower North Shore, it is important to work with our trained and experienced professionals at Mason Concreting. The process of polishing concrete is very involved and requires specialised equipment and techniques. Our trained professionals will be able to create a beautiful and durable finish for your Lower North Shore residential or commercial space that will last for many years.

What is Concrete Polishing?

Polished concrete is a flooring finish that uses diamond abrasives to grind the surface of the concrete, revealing and enhancing the innate qualities of the slab itself without the need for a floor covering. It can be used to achieve a variety of different finishes, depending on your preferences, and it is a very labour-intensive process. However, the results are worth it – you’ll have a beautiful, durable surface that is easy to maintain.

Concrete polishing is a great option if you are looking for a flooring finish that is both stylish and practical. It can be used in both Lower North Shore residential and commercial spaces, and it is perfect for areas that receive a lot of traffic. The smooth surface is easy to clean and maintenance is minimal.

We may also pour the concrete in the location and provide a decorative mix from our suppliers, Geostone and Ablestone, if required. These companies make unique mixes that will give your home or business a modern look.

If you are considering polished concrete for your home or business on the Lower North Shore, contact our team of trained and experienced professionals at Mason Concreting. We can provide a bold, mirror-like finish or something more subtle, such as a satin or burnished finish, depending on your preferences.

THE BENEFITS.

OF POLISHED CONCRETE

Low Maintenance

Polished concrete is one of the simplest flooring materials to keep clean. It will stay looking good with a simple sweep and mop. Polished concrete flooring is an ideal choice for busy entrepreneurs and homeowners because of its low upkeep requirements. All sectors in residential, industrial, and commercial environments may benefit from polished concrete.

Slip Resistant

Polished concrete is a good choice for high-traffic areas around your property or building. It boasts a slip-resistant surface, which is another essential safety feature for public buildings, companies, and private homes. The floor may be walked on without fear of slipping or falling, without concerns about polished concrete.

Stain Resistance

Polished concrete is highly resistant to spills and stains, making it an excellent option for a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals, restaurants, and retail stores. You won’t have to be concerned about spills damaging your floor. The stain resistance of polished concrete is an important advantage and can be a lifesaver in commercial settings, as it helps to keep the floor looking great for years to come. With proper care, a polished concrete floor will last much longer than other types of flooring.

Long Lasting

Polished concrete is also a long-lasting flooring option. It can tolerate a lot of foot traffic and shows less wear and tear over time. This makes it an excellent option for places with heavily frequented areas like schools, hospitals, and stores.

Polished concrete is ideal for walkways, kitchens, and other areas where a lot of foot traffic from kids and pets is expected. Many of our clients like polished concrete over different flooring types and finishes because it requires less time to replace and maintain the floors in their homes.

FAQs.

Yes! Most concrete slabs can be polished to breathe new life into your property and add a one-of-a-kind, stylish feature. We frequently discover that hidden concrete below carpeting is wonderfully restored during the remodeling process. Polished concrete floors are ideal for areas that are prone to moisture or flooding.
This is the most frequently asked question. The straightforward answer is that polished concrete is used indoors while honed concrete is suitable for outdoor areas. Honed concrete and polished concrete both go through the same initial processes, however, polished concrete has a flawless, smooth, and seamless finish after it undergoes the grouting process. It is then densified, buffed and polished – Extra processes that are not undertaken in the concrete honing process for outdoor areas.
To make polished concrete more slip-resistant, it can be finished in a certain way that raises the slip resistance grade, thus making it safer. For clients who are worried about the slickness of polished concrete, a matte or satin finish may be preferable to a glossy finish.

Polished concrete looks fantastic, and it is simple to keep clean. All that is required is a sweep or vacuum followed by a light mop. We recommend using Carbon Elite Clean, which is a specific polished concrete floor cleaner from Carbon Elite Flooring (Carbon Elite Clean 1L).

Details of the product are available here: Carbon Elite Clean 1L.

There is a wide range of polished concrete mixtures to select from, much like choosing a colored concrete or exposed aggregate combination outside. Ablestone and Geostone, our two suppliers, have developed appealing polished concrete mixes that satisfy a variety of design and anaesthetic tastes. To receive the most up-to-date range charts, contact us now.

There are three different types of finishes

available: matte, satin, and high-gloss:
Matte: a natural-looking polished concrete floor with a low sheen finish.

Satin: is a mid-range option with just the right amount of glitz; it’s not too bright, but it’s still modern and well-finished.This is a popular option for both residential and commercial structures.

High gloss: ideal for making a statement indoors. With a captivating gleam level and beautifully high reflecting qualities, high gloss is the way to go.

For areas of around 50–100 m2, the time required for concrete polishing is roughly five days. Time consuming process with numerous involved steps, including the application of a penetrative sealer.
We can complete the concrete polishing and lay the concrete using a single contractor rather than engaging two separator contractors. This allows us to provide our customers with cost-effective solutions. The cost per m2 of polished concrete floors will vary based on the concrete mix chosen. Concrete polishing, on the other hand, can restore an area for a reasonable price when compared to other flooring alternatives in areas where the concrete has already been laid.
All our services are offered to properties in the Northern Beaches and Lower North Shore, Sydney area.
